But lately, our luck has come back. Our days have been sunny with a cool breeze. The sun has come out to great the new blossoms. Trees are becoming less bare every day. Happiness is the new look. When things go wrong we must remember that things don’t last forever, the sun will be back and the skies will be blue. On the other side of that, when it’s nice out take advantage. Because the good things seem to run out quicker. Wake up early, go out with family. Take a visit to the beach even if you don’t swim. Collect shells and hunt of tiny crabs. Whatever you do don’t waste your time. If you have any issue with a friend, let it be known immediately, because one thing you don’t want to do is spend your time in dispar or loneliness. Its Spring!! Enough of that gloominess.

           During the winter, I like to make a list of things I can do. This comes in handy for those really nice days that we have nothing to do. Invent things! Redesign your home! Maybe even paint a picture. But never, sit around and frown.

         Every spring, I like to start things fresh. So I empty out my closet and only put things I want to keep back in. Anything I havent been wearing or that I just don’t like anymore I donate. While making room for new things I am helping others and it really does wonders for you. I love volunteering and doing things to help the community. The feeling I get afterwards is priceless. Dont stay put, get out and do something, and enjoy the weather!

I’m not trying to give a pity story, but I get mad when people complain about having siblings. For example, their older sister got the bigger room or their younger brother dumped their cologne down the sink. It’s fine to vent, but at times I get jealous that they have someone to recall those funny memories with. That’s probably why I look forward to Christmas time, because my favorite cousin, and best friend, comes over along with two of my aunts. It’s become tradition, and I feel like I have a whole family. But lately I havent seen them since my aunt is busier, being a doctor, and my cousin is getting ready for college.

I just wish I had someone to recall of all the good times when my parents are gone, and to never leave my side even if we fight forever. And you might be thinking “Go get some friends”, but when friends fight and end they never see each other again, and family well, my family is proof that when family fights and parts they build back up. Why? Because we are blood and we share a long lasting history. And I do have that with my parents, but as time goes by and they age and become physically weaker, I to get weaker because I know that soon I’ll be alone. I wish I had a sister and a brother, so we can laugh about that one time.

Lately I havent had any time at all to write. Which pretty much eats up my heart. Now I’m studying, working, and volunteering for different organizations. It feels like I never have time to do anything for me. It’s almost pathetic. But life is tough so it is time to harden up and take control. I’ve realized that I cant add more hours to my days but I can learn how to manage them.

I always laughed at people with organizers. I dont know why but I used to find it so stupid. What was I thinking?! They’re great! It doesnt matter if it’s a super cool electronic one or a simple notepad. Just keep yourself organized. During school I write down main points in class and my assignments. And as the day goes by more plans are added to my week, as I make them I plot them down.

Then, when I get home I review it and make sure all is taken care off. And In the morning I review the night before and if anything is planned for the new day I make sure I know. It’s helped me manage life a lot better so I do advise everyone to do it. Believe me it’s worth looking like a dork for. And if you have kids, make sure they do it too. And check it every so often to make sure they’re using it.

Why are old people so funny? Well, sadly it’s because old age is like a second childhood but instead of learning new things they’re forgetting it all. And sometimes they just happen to do something that we find funny. Can we help but to laugh? I say embrace it, if they were younger and well off they would laugh. So as you obviously don’t know my mother is a CNA nurse. And i love that. I mean i don’t love knowing that my mom is cleaning after other people, but one day i asked her what work was like, and this is what she told me… well i’ll use nicknames for the people, just to let them keep their privacy. “So I’ve got various little stories, lets start with doc. Once he was sure of everything, and now well he’s aged a bit. He is surprised with food like every time the nurses give him his dinner tray he’ll yell out HOLY SHIT, ha ha. -at that point i spit out my food laughing. She told me that occasionally he’ll yell out to some people in the hallway- “Hi honey, you’re a good girl. I love you” and i don’t think the guy nurse tom likes it. Sometimes he lets “I’m a good girl” slip out. -now I’m snorting-. Oh and you’ll love tootsie roll, he’s an old aged coco man” my mom says ” tootsie roll loves to pee in mugs, I don’t know why but during dinner he’ll sometimes take out his ‘tootsie roll’ and pee” she smirked at me and said “One day we all went to him and said : you might think its funny to pee in that mug but we don’t drink in it, you do.” He hasnt peed in any mugs since. “ Mom’s favorite man is Pepsi. Why Pepsi? ” After every sip he always sighs and grunts bitch, I love Pepsi he’s so funny.” ha ha i found that one rich, although i think its better to actually hear her imitate him “ah bitch. Once I actually asked him who the bitch was..’Who’s the bitch your wife?’” -”NO!” he mumbles. “Your mother?” -”NO no no” “Your daughter?” “Humph no…” “So I just leave him alone, because he better not be talking about me, I’m the one feeding him.” Ha ha poor mom. Whether it’s a funny comment on advanced technology or a sad story about a life experience we always enjoy being with those cat loving grannys. I don’t know about you but nothing makes a better new years than my grandma dancing on the table with two beers.

How would you like your music?

Medium, rare or well done?

What kind of music makes your heart melt, soar, and leap like a peppy cheerleader?  Music is one of the most beautiful gifts our world was given. Me? Well I love music, everywhere I go I come with my ipod. And by the way ipods are gifts to the world to! No more CD players! Sorry getting sidetracked once again, anyways music can make us mad, happy, and sometimes it makes us leak salty water from our eyes. Either way music influences people throughout the world.  For myself I’m quite into indie, rock, classical, alternative, and i love acoustic. Well to be honest I like a bit of everything, sometimes I’m in the mood or some Spanish and sometimes I like to listen to french music for example the band Kyo. Ce Soir is good stuff. Anyways, as I’ve mentioned I do like classical music, preferably Debussy and Liszt. They are just amazing and so talented. My favorite piano song would be River Flows In You by Yiruma, if you haven’t heard it I suggest you open a tab on youtube and look it up. Yiruma’s style  is contemporary, he is quite modern but not so far from classical. Its soothing but it also excites you. River Flows In You really gives me a out of body experience. And NO i wasn’t high. I guess it depends where you are and what you’re doing. As much as i don’t like rap and SOME hip hop I must say it definitely suits parties well. I mean you cant be dancing your ass off to I’m Yours, not that it isn’t good enough, it’s just not the right scene. I like music that’s sweet, relaxing and most important meaningful. So I guess that’s why my parents are happy with me . One of my favorite bands are….The Beatles. They were revolutionary, just truly a tremendous group whether they were on Mary Jane or coke it doesn’t matter, they had true talent. I don’t think we can get artists as rare and just unbelievable as The Beatles or Michael Jackson but we must keep trying. To those looking for music to lift the soul I suggest looking up Playing For Change. I was watching their video on Stand By Me and to be honest I thought I might start crying on how “Freaking Amazing!!” they were. Bless their souls. But we can all still be green without using up time. No you don’t have to plant trees. It would help, but remember that the little stuff counts too! By the way this information is borrowed not stolen, I’m just trying to help bring it all to your attention.  One of the easiest ways to save water is by…oh I’m saying it, peeing in the water. Yup, if your about to shower and you need to tinkle, it’s more than safe to tinkle in the shower. I suggest you use a little bit of hot water right after but not too long! Urine is sterile it wont hurt and it’ll actually help fight and prevent athletes foot. Don’t believe me?! GOOGLE IT! Other ways to be green can be by obviously recycling. On the run? Easy, you can set up a little recycling bin clung to the back of a car seat. So on the quick stops for coffee and a muffin you can through away those recyclable items for later on. Mentioning coffee that reminds me always keep a clean commuter mug in the car. You never know when you want some coffee. This one is a big help, while bringing anti spill convenience your saving trees! Another great way to save trees is by the canvas tote bag. Next time you go grocery shopping bring reusable bags. No more paper or plastic and they’re loads easier to handle. Being mobile and green can be a bit hard to fit into your mobile quick speed lives but with a little push it’ll become a habit.

Hello World,

  Anonymous here, but you can call me Iris. I’ve never blogged before but I guess there’s a start for everything. There isn’t much on the plate for today because I have a summer assignment to get done. So, I guess I have bad timing issues. I complain, about almost everything, and maybe I don’t out loud. But lets face it, just about everyone in the entire planet earth can find something to complain about. I’ve come to find that the people that have more to complain about don’t. And I wish I was like that. I really do, but I always find myself wishing for so much more than I deserve and finding excuses for myself to make it seem like I have more to show for myself. I want to change but I’m so ashamed of myself I feel like I cant just go asking for help that others could use more than I. My parents want me to go to college and be someone big, bring my family and community pride. But I just want to travel and study history. I want to be out there finding out how Egyptians lighted pyramids and the truth about Atlantis. And I know it’d disappoint them. Where to go. So I guess this isn’t much about events, but more about life. A blog about life and how to manage from Iris’s point of view.

First Topic: Old Home

   This one is directed to movers, whether your parents are moving town to town for new jobs or the military is dragging you to a new state you know what I’m talking about. MOVING SUCKS, not too long ago I lived in beautiful paradise where you pretty much don’t stop having fun until someone dies or YOU MOVE. Yes, I feel your pain. When I arrived there I didn’t think I’d like it, accustomed to the north I was in for some sweating. In less than a month I was in love. Living on an touristic island you are isolated from family therefore forced into making friends QUICK so that’s what my  mom and I did. Sadly, my dad was out to sea. It was monumental, astounding, and just flat out cool. We spent 5 years just hanging loose and going out almost every night. No financial problems nothing at all could ruin my paradise. Once a month we’d go out camping, it was great because we’d go out with a huge group of people and we lived. Truly lived. For Christmas we’d have to rent a space like a community center because we had this group, club if you will, and a house just wouldn’t fit us all in. Drama was minuscule, I’d never met so many people that just got along so well, it was picture perfect. But that’s just it, “..so well…picture perfect.” those words don’t exist. I think we must accept things as they are but only in those moments. Things get to you, I was living the dream just parties and friends, the beach. Nothing can stay perfect, they can be good but perfection doesn’t exist. I fooled myself, but I was also young. I almost forgot that I was apart of the navy families and therefore we had to move because my dad was being sent to another sub. Drastic might be the right word to describe what it was. I had to leave my new family. Such a wonderful and powerful family we made, bonded by love not blood but love. My soul sister, my best friend and I were split. But it didn’t even feel like a split, more like a rip, an uneven rip leaving most of me behind with her, and with my island. I was just wondering about and I saw this one quote that truely saved me from my sadness. To Mr. Seuss, I thank you because if it weren’t for your words I wouldn’t have appreciated the most amazing experience in my entire life.
